The far-right gets the pre-election wobbles

Lots more interesting things besides BNP porn barons, porn stars and date-rape drugs have been going on in the run-up to the GLA, Mayoral and local government elections on Thursday.
The British National Party's Wrexham-based candidate for mayor of Liverpool, Mike Whitby, has been arrested on suspicion of faking signatures on his nomination papers, while former BNP 'super-activist' Peter Tierney, also known as Peter Quiggins, has done what everybody in the BNP does eventually - fallen out with Nick Griffin and moved over to the National Front, where he is doomed to even more failure than before.
Last week's Tottenham Court Road siege provoked anti-Muslim tirades from both Griffin and various bods in the EDL, only for them to shut up instantly when it was revealed that the lunatic carrying out the siege was former BNP candidate Michael Green, who stood for the party at the 2010 general election in Stevenage. Ah, the embarrassment.
Griffin's tweets follow:
"Tottenham Court Road hostage situation. I bought my copy of the Koran there back in 2OO1. If hostage taker angry coz refused HGV licence then won't be a Muslim bomber. They don't work! Police say hostage taker is 'mentally unstable'. No shit, Sherlock!"
Griffin wasn't alone in trying to shove the blame for the siege on to a Muslim; the EDL did the same thing, as we saw here.
Tommy Robinson, cokehead, leader of the EDL and soon to be deputy-leader of the almost-invisible British Freedom, got so annoyed at Griffin tweeting about him that he threatened to 'slap' him, though Tommy (or Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) threatens pretty much everybody sooner or later.
Griffin had tweeted:

Struck a nerve there has he, Tommy?
Meanwhile, some EDL members got out and campaigned for whatever it is they believe in, in Jie 'Row' Johnson's case by, er, laying down on a supermarket fridge to protest against Halal meat. What a dumbass.
